"Politics as Therapy: Notes on Art and Struggle in South Africa," with Daniel Magaziner, Yale University.

The struggle against apartheid was a political struggle, an economic struggle, an intellectual struggle, and a social struggle. It was also an aesthetic struggle. This talk pivots on the relationship between two South African artists during the 1960s, a period many consider the nadir in South African resistance.

Professor Daniel Magaziner teaches South African, African and 20th century global history at Yale University. Among other projects, he is currently writing a history of South Africa as a case-study of non-national nations in the Global South.
